Round One: 10 – 8 Njokuani
Both fighters came out aggressive and started throwing quick jabs and some straight kicks. Njokuani threw some bombs but they didn’t connect. Winner looked sharp, sticking and moving. He avoided damage from a spinning back elbow from Njokuani. Njokuani threw some really unexpected kicks but cannot catch Winner off balance. Njokuani connected with a few solid uppercuts which might have taken some gas out of Winner.
Njokuani unloaded on Winner with kicks, elbows, knees to the face, punches to the face…how was he still standing at the end of that round?!?!
Round Two: 10 – 8 Njokuani
Winner came out fast but didn’t really do much of anything. Njokuani looked sharp and not worn out from throwing all of those strikes at the end of the last round. Njokuani attacked Winner with a head kick and then beat on him with his knees and fists some more. Winner has one heck of a chin!
Njokuani got Winner up against the octagon and got some knees to the body before Levine separated them. Winner got a nice left hook on Njokuani but didn’t do any lasting damage. Njokuani throws kicks so quickly and smoothly you just never see them coming! He tagged Winner a few more times with some leg and body kicks but there was definitely much less action this round. I still gave the round to Njokuani.
Round Three: 10 – 9 Njokuani
Both fighters still looked fresh and full of energy at the start of the round. Despite the beating Winner took so far in the fight, he actually looked pretty good. Njokuani threw some great combos that really worked for him in this fight. Njokuani also tagged Winner a few times with some nice crisp jabs that looked like they started to take their toll on Winner. Winner ended up getting a few hooks in on Njokuani – he was much more active in the last round than the previous two.
My Score: 30 – 25 Njokuani
Judges Score: 30 – 27, 30 – 26, 30 – 26 Njokuani
Winner: Anthony Njokuani
